dvg_snmpd

dvg_snmpd.pl - daemon to collect the snmp data

dvg_snmpd.pl reads its config from configfile and the dvg database only at startup. dvg_snmpd start to query the hosts as configured. the values for each device are stoerd into the rrd files and in the database for later visualisation and later processing.

THIS DAEMON IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT SO DO NOT EXPECT EVERYTHING IS WORKING!!!

–debug=i | -d i
Enables debuging. i defines the debug level. the higher i is more output is created.

–quiet | -q
be quiet (disables some minor logging).

–nodaemon
dvg_snmpd stays in forground

–stdout=file | -o file
redirects stdout of th daemon to file. /dev/null is used if this option is not set

–stderr=file | -e file
redirects stdout of th daemon to file. /dev/null is used if this option is not set

–help | -i
this page :)

–version | -v
Print the version and revision of this program

SIGINT
should reload the config

SIGQUIT
stops all open queries (it could take along time!)

SIGUSR1
Toggels the debug flag on/off

you cannot reload the config, it’s not working :(

There could be some more bugs. If you find one (or more) please report it to bugs

• If a FQDN or hostname cannot be resolved the daeomon dies
